‘In many respects it's normal, because you have much more fluid circulating round your body in pregnancy. The swelling itself is rarely a concern.’
While such swelling can sometimes be a sign of pre-eclampsia, Dr Jarvis says this is unlikely to be an issue for the highly mobile Duchess.
‘It is highly unlikely that this is a problem for the Duchess of Sussex if she is up and about.
‘She will undoubtedly be having regular checks, and if any signs of pre-eclampsia is found, women are usually recommended to rest.’
While the Duchess’ due date remains a hot topic of speculation, she isn’t slowing down, with her Commonwealth Day event drawing wide praise for her stylish choice of outfit, and warm greeting with alleged former adversary Kate Middleton.
