The Duchess had returned to Admiralty House in Sydney on Oct. 16 after a day of events which saw her visit Taronga Zoo and greet crowds at the Sydney Opera House.
At the afternoon reception, Meghan could be seen chatting to music star Missy Higgins who was there with her daughter.
The Australian singer-songwriter welcomed a little girl, Luna, earlier this year.
Meghan also spoke to mathematician and Australian TV personality Eddie Woo, 33, at the reception where conversation turned towards parenthood.
The Duchess of Sussex has said she and her husband are “excited” about becoming parents.
When he said that his own children – aged five, seven and 10 – require “a lot of energy”, she replied: “We’re ready! We’re excited to join the club.”
Former Suits actress Meghan looked stunning in her olive green outfit from designer Brandon Maxwell, which retails for $2,555AUD.
Brandon Maxwell is an American fashion designer, director, photographer, and stylist who, since 2012, has acted as Lady Gaga’s fashion director.
Meghan accessorised her dress, which featured a pleated skirt, with nude shoes.
"Green is one of Meghan’s go to colours which looks sensational with her skin tone," Fashion expert Donny Galella told New Idea.
"I love her casual swept up up do with signature loose strands of hair," Donny told New Idea.
"The look is much like her wedding hair style."
