However, it was the duchesses choice of jewellery that piqued interest, as eagle-eyed fans noted that the new mum was wearing an “A” necklace in tribute to the two-month-old son she shares with Prince Harry; Archie-Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
The necklace is reportedly by Jennifer Meyer and costs £278 ($497 AUD).
Meghan’s surprise outing follows further announcements from Buckingham Palace about baby Archie’s christening on July 6.
In a new statement, the palace revealed: "Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor will be christened in a small private ceremony by the Archbishop of Canterbury in the Private Chapel at Windsor Castle on Saturday 6th July. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex look forward to sharing some images taken on the day by photographer Chris Allerton. The godparents, in keeping with their wishes, will remain private."
The Duke and Duchess of Sussexes move to make the event private has sparked controversy, given other prominent members of the royal family, such as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, have previously elected to make the christenings of their children public.
