Meghan Markle’s half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr was arrested on January 12 after holding a gun to a woman’s head following a drunken, late-night argument.
Markle Jnr, 50 – who shares a father with Prince Harry’s girlfriend – was taken into custody in Grants Pass, Oregon and charged with menacing, pointing a firearm at another person, and unlawful use of a weapon, according to the Mail Online.
The arrests were confirmed by Deputy Jill Elardi, of Josephine County Sheriff’s Office. She said: "He was arrested at 11pm on January 12 and released on Friday at 10am. He will be going to court for it."
His bail was valued at $US1,500 and the star's sibling is said to have called his former wife Tracy Dooley to assist him with the funds.
"I don’t want this to be embarrassing for Meghan. Tom has had a little fame and publicity since Meghan started dating Prince Harry. He wants what’s best for her. He is so happy and proud for her," Tracy said, according to the website.
"They used to be very close but there has been some separation over the years. The last thing he would want to do is to hurt her," she added.
