Mel B: Iggy is not my enemy!
Three years after she last appeared on the series, erstwhile Spice Girl Mel B, 41, has been revealed as the “underdog judge” who will give contestants a second chance at glory on this season of X Factor: Next Generation.
Ahead of her return to the show, fellow judge Guy Sebastian told WHO that Mel B, whom he considers a friend, is also “a handful … I never know what I’m going to get from her.” He also teased he expected Mel B to end up tussling with Iggy Azalea, who joins the panel this season alongside Adam Lambert.
And Mel B is not having a bar of it. “I don’t anticipate that,” Mel B tells WHO. “I come from a group that preached girl power. It isn’t fair to presume we’re not going to get along just because we’re both women. People want to pit us against each other for that reason, but I’ve met Iggy before and she’s lovely. I think we’re going to have fun.”
