While accompanying her husband on his tour of the great religious centers of the world, Melania Trump has made a concerted effort to wear designers from each region she visits. But it’s undeniable that the new First Lady has a soft spot for a particular set of Italian designers who often find themselves embroiled in a whole lot of negative drama, and judging by Dolce & Gabbana’s Instagram accounts, the admiration is mutual.
After going to bat for the FLOTUS on their social media accounts this week, rudely telling their followers precisely where they can put their opinions and sarcastically urging people to #BoycottDolce&Gabbana, Melania has demonstrated that she will proudly stand by the designers who are so passionate about dressing her. The First Lady wore yet another one of their creations on the final day of her world tour with her husband, stepping out in Sicily on Friday where the President will be attending the G7 summit, wearing a very pricey look from the label’s latest collection.
Mrs. Trump made the price of Hillary Clinton’s controversial Armani jacket look like child’s play, wearing a A$70,000 silk coat from the Italian designers featuring an all-over 3D, technicolor floral embellishment which she paired with a cream colored brocade cocktail dress, matching nude pumps, and a coordinating floral clutch, also from D&G, with a Swarovski crystal clasp, which retails for A$2,100 and appears to be sold out at most stores.
