Interestingly, Liam removed his estranged wife from his Insta friend's list some time ago, with rumours swirling he was fed up with her desperate attempts to try and prove she'd moved on before him.
In spite of the subtle jab, a series of clued up sources have all confirmed the "Slide Away" singer is said to now be questioning whether she made the right decision in letting Liam go as his relationship with Aussie actress Maddison Brown heats up.
"She’s having difficulty accepting that he’s happy with Maddison," a friend of the Hunger Games actor shared. "Miley’s trying to act like she doesn’t care, but she’s secretly fuming."
“She was drunk dialling him for a while, so now she’s resorted to social media to get his attention,” a source told also Radar Online. “This romance with Cody, supposed hospital visit and constant ‘look at me’ behaviour is all designed to push Liam’s buttons — and to be fair it’s always worked in the past because he’s a good guy who ultimately loves her. But now he’s just rolling his eyes and washing his hands of her, even as a friend, which of course is driving Miley nuts."
On the flip side, Kaitlynn— who split with her husband Brody Jenner around the same time as Miley called time on her marriage with Liam—still follows the pop sensation.
Yesterday, The Hills: New Beginnings star penned a touching and deeply personal essay for Elle about her whirlwind romance with Miley, revealing it was during their European vacation that she realised she had fallen in love with her.
“This past July, I went on vacation with a female friend; the next thing I knew, I was in love with her,” Kaitlynn wrote.
“Until that trip, it had never crossed my mind that I was even capable of loving a woman the way I loved her. As my friend and I spent that August traveling through Europe together and trying to move past our respective breakups, my first and only romance with a woman was born. It just happened and it felt exactly right,” Kaitlynn continued.
“Reflecting back on our three-year friendship, I realized I’d always been drawn to her in a way I wasn’t with other friends, but until that trip, it had never crossed my mind to think of her in a romantic sense.”
Despite only dating for six weeks— with People reporting Miley called time on their romance because it was moving too fast— The Hills: New Beginnings star said her relationship with the singer helped her discover critical parts of her identity she had subconsciously suppressed.
"While it was short-lived, I’ll remain eternally grateful to my most recent relationship for opening my eyes to this unexplored part of myself, and for inspiring a new level of self-discovery and wonder at all the possibilities of life. I’ve been forced to get to know myself in a far deeper way than ever before, and not just in terms of my sexual preferences. I’ve also been forced to reckon with who I am as a person."
She concluded: “Although the relationship with my friend was often referenced in the media as merely a ‘summer fling’ or a ‘same-sex affair,’ it was so much more than that. This was a profound journey of self-discovery. For the first time, I listened to myself, forgot about the ‘norm,’ and lived. Remain curious. Know that there are many layers within you—and they just might be the most invaluable ones.”
