On August 14, Liam broke his silence about his split from Miley, wishing her nothing but the best for the future. In his first social media post since news broke that the couple of 10 years had decided to part ways, the Hollywood A-lister revealed he has no plans to speak about the matter any further, asking fans to respect his privacy during this difficult time.
"Hi all, Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward," The Hunger Games actor captioned an Instagram photo of the beach during sunrise.
"This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets. Any reported quotes attributed to me are false. Peace and Love."
His heartbreaking statement comes three days after a representative for the pop star revealed they'd called it quits.
“Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time,” the rep told PEOPLE. “Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers.
Although rumours of a potential break up between the pair spread like wildfire last month when the 26-year-old “Party in the USA” hitmaker was caught arguing with Liam in public, a source close to the duo confessed this morning that Miley spent months trying to save their marriage.
The insider said the Black Mirror actress begged Liam to go to couple's therapy, however, "he didn't come close to meeting her halfway". They also alleged Miley “was the one to end" their seven-month-long marriage after telling Liam "she wanted an open relationship" and "wasn’t ready for just one person for forever.”
It has since been said that Miley “was the one to end" their seven-month-long marriage after revealing "she wanted an open relationship" and "wasn’t ready for just one person for forever.”
After calling it quits, Miley and reality TV star Kaitlynn Carter were photographed making out while relaxing on a yacht in Italy. Reports have since surfaced claiming the pair have been "hooking up for a couple of months".
And, in an unexpected turn of events, Kaitlynn's ex-husband Brody Jenner is, apparently, "totally okay with it".
“It was no secret," an insider told to TMZ, admitting Kaitlynn and Brody— who separated last month— had discussed her relationship with Miley in the past. "Brody is still friends with them. There’s no drama. [Kaitlynn] had some other priorities [in her marriage], and you now know what they are."
Yesterday, Brody weighed in on his exes hookup, posting a photo of himself to Instagram with the caption: "Don’t let yesterday take up too much of today."
Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee's son, Brandon Thomas Lee, was quick to make a joke in the comments section saying: "Let's round this scandal out and post a pic of us making out," adding a kissy-face emoji.
Brody responded, "@brandonthomaslee watch out! Pics of Liam and I holding hands on the beach coming soon," along with the emoji of two men.
