After days of silence, Liam spoke out about his split, wishing his ex-wife nothing by the best for the future. In his first social media post since their split made headlines, the Australian actor revealed he has no plans to speak about the matter any further, asking fans to respect his privacy during this difficult time.
"Hi all, Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward," The Hunger Games actor captioned an Instagram photo of the beach during sunrise.
"This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets. Any reported quotes attributed to me are false.
Peace and Love."
Although it appears the couple parted ways amicably, sources close to Miley and Liam told TMZ this morning that the former couple is now at war, with claims of drug use and infidelity at the heart of their nasty split.
According to the outlet, sources on the pop star's side say Miley desperately tried to save their seven-month-long marriage, however, Liam's alleged "drinking" and "drug use" spelled the end of their decade long relationship. The questionable source also added that Miley wasn't accepting of Liam's alleged party antics, especially since she's "struggled with substance abuse in the past".
Since these shocking accusations emerged— which we should take with a grain of salt— a source close to the actor has hit back, telling TMZ that Miley's friends are intentionally using this as a coverup so the attention is taken away from supposed "infidelity" on the "We Can't Stop" singer's behalf.
"This is another attempt by Miley to distract from her infidelity and recent outrageous public behavior," the insider said.
