The body of the boy missing in NSW flood waters is believed to have been found.
Wollongong 11-year-old Ryan Teasdale was riding a body board with other children at a flooded park in Unanderra on Thursday afternoon when he was swept away.
His brother, who was also at the park, reportedly raised the alarm and authorities searched the area into the night.
“Sadly, police have discovered the body of a boy, believed to be that of an 11 year old missing from Unanderra,” read a police statement this morning. “Police are supporting the family.”
Earlier, police had suspected the boy had been swept into a drain.
"What they were doing was riding on boogie boards down the reserve, due to the rain," said Superintendent Zoran Dzevlan. "And what we believe may have happened is that Ryan may have fallen into one of those drains."
