While other teams were able to spend some of their down time practising cooking together in order to give themselves their best shot, Milly and Karolina were deliberately kept apart by the producers for the sake of on-air drama, Karolina claims.
“We were given a lot of new things – new, never done before. We were told, ‘Don’t even talk to each other’,” the 46-year-old says. “Truly, we weren’t allowed to talk to each other except for at the Instant Restaurants before ours.”
The Perth mother-of-two says she had assumed she and Milly, 31, would be given special conditions due to their obvious disadvantage in the competition. “There was no, ‘Oh, they don't know each other’ f--k no,” she says. “A lot of people think because we haven’t cooked together that we’ll get favouritism and special treatment. No, no, no. If anything, we were really given an even harder time.”
With Milly and Karolina’s Instant Restaurant coming up soon, what effect will this have on their chances in the competition? Watch this space!
