There’s something distinctly ‘Modern Family’ about this married couple - Karito, 33, a Colombian, has a 13 year-old daughter, and has been married to Ian, 37, a confirmed “Skip” for three years.
Sound familiar? Hellloooo Australia’s Gloria and Jay!

Karito is passionate about food, and is looking forward to introducing local audiences to the cuisine of her Colombian homeland.
“I’m here to honour my grandmother, my background and make my daughter proud,” she says.
But expect some fireworks along the way.
“I love pleasing my man with food, but there are some times the crazy Latina comes out,” Karito admits. “We will put passion, love and fire into our dishes. We’re here to prove what Latinos are made of.”

While Ian admits he only taught himself to cook after leaving home at age 18, Karito says she learnt at a young age.
“I was cooking from the age of eight,” she says. “My Grandma taught me and I picked up some tips here and there from different friends from different countries and I also like to add my own touch.”
But audiences had better be on their toes - Karito admits that when she’s under pressure, she sometimes lapses back into her native tongue.
“My biggest weakness in the competition is my communication (my English doesn’t work while under pressure),” she admits.
“[And] My biggest weakness in the competition is the lack of knowledge of Colombian/Latin food,” Ian admits.
