However, there was more to the incident than it appeared on screen.
While Ash was the one who was unwell, it was actually Stacey who forced the engaged pair to exit the competition.
"I’m quite competitive and I didn’t want to be rallied out like that.
"I was really disappointed and I didn’t want to leave like that."
Stacey adds: "Ash is the most competitive person I know. So that was massive for him to actually listen to me."
Most upset by their departure were good friends, Perth siblings Amanda and Blake.
"There were still a lot of tears, especially Amanda and Blake, because we hit it off with them so well," Ash explains.
"It was sad to leave a lot of the competitors. Andy and Ruby we really got along with and there were a lot of people we got a lot with. So it was sad to go.
"I think everyone wanted to see each other in a way to the best and not go out that way. "
One team Stacey and Ash weren't sad to say goodbye to were arch rivals Josh and Austin, who giggled at hearing the news of their exit while others shed a tear.
"We don’t really care about them at all," Ash says.
"They’re just doing their own thing. They’re just in their own bubble. So we’ll just let them be in their bubble."
