It is not known whether Leakes will be returning as a full-time Housewife, friend of the Housewives, or guest in season 10. She has been a fixture on RHOA since it first premiered on Bravo in October 2008, leading the franchise — Bravo’s most successful of all their Housewives — for seven seasons and appearing as a guest in season 8.
Though she’s been off the show for the past two years, Leakes has never stopped talking about it or the drama between cast mates — albeit on Twitter or during her many infamous appearances on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
She recently made headlines with her live-tweet of RHOA‘s season 9 reunion part 4, blasting Phaedra Parks for spreading inflammatory accusations to Porsha Williams that said Kandi Burruss and her husband Todd Tucker had planned on drugging Williams and their mutual friend Shamea Morton in order to take advantage of them sexually.
“You can never WIN when you play DIRTY!” she wrote. “Girl bye #karma 1 down, 1 to go.”
“I’m so pissed,” she added later. “The show I started on! These thirsty chicks have the nerve to reach so low for position! It’s been happening FOREVER.”
Filming for RHOA‘s 10th season is expected to begin soon. While no casting decisions have been announced yet, Burruss, Williams, Kenya Moore, Cynthia Bailey and Shereé Whitfield are all expected to return — while Parks will not.
Kim Zolciak-Biermann — a frenemy of Leakes and fellow original RHOA Housewife — is said to also be returning to the show next season, a source confirms to PEOPLE. She appeared as a guest on the show in the season 9 finale, attending Whitfield’s housewarming party and fighting with Moore. Zolciak-Biermann also stars in her own spin-off, Don’t Be Tardy, which will premiere its sixth season soon.
Since leaving RHOA, Leakes has gone on to build an extensive career for herself in Hollywood. She’s launched her own clothing line for HSN and is one of the cohosts on E!’s Fashion Police. She’s currently also working on her second novel.
Season 10 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta is expected to air this fall.
