The halt is expected to last two weeks and comes into effect from March 16.
The news comes after Stranger Things released it's trailer for the upcoming fourth season in October.
Other major companies have made the same move as Netflix, including Disney, who announced on Friday that it had put a hold on production on seven live-action movies as a result of the coronavirus.
A statement from Disney revealed that “while there have been no confirmed cases of COVID-19 on our productions, after considering the current environment and the best interests of our cast and crew, we have made the decision to pause production on some of our live-action films for a short time.”
Warner Bros has also announced it was suspending production on more than 70 of its shows.
