Will Casey and Izzie fall for each other? What about Casey’s boyfriend, Evan? How is Sam going to cope in the big wide world? Will he ever find a new therapist? What’s the status of Elsa and Doug’s marriage?
There are so many questions I am desperately awaiting answers to and have wondered if/when I will ever receive them.
Now, I can rest easy at night (along with thousands of other fans) as Netflix has just announced that a third season of the critically acclaimed comedy/drama series is well on its way!
Earlier this week, the streaming giant dropped a press release that said that season three will feature 10 half-hour episodes and will pick up where season two left off. While the entire cast hasn't been confirmed yet, it is safe to say we can expect the regulars to return. This includes Keir Gilchrist, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Michael Rapaport, Brigette Lundy-Paine and Amy Okuda.
In case you haven’t binged watched the first two seasons on Netflix, 'Atypical' follows an 18-year-old boy named Sam Gardner who is on the autistic spectrum. Throughout the series, Sam learns to navigate his way through high school and a part-time job while also searching for his independence, a girlfriend, and the latest penguin facts! As well as sharing Sam’s coming of age, and frankly quite emotional story, the show also follows his immediate family - Doug, Elsa and Casey - and their crazily tumultuous lives which are the furthest thing from perfect.
The show, while hilarious and often times sarcastic, preaches some valuable lessons and grapples with what it really means to be normal and whether it is okay to be different. Now those are things we all should be aware of in this day and age!
