She gave birth to her first child, son Gene Attell on May 5, and while Amy Schumer should be basking in new-mum glory, instead the American actress is getting trolled by online ‘mum shamers.’
The 37-year-old has taken to Instagram after she was slammed for returning back to work “too soon” by some of her followers.
“Sending out love to the moms shaming me for doing standup last night!” she captioned a picture of her in bed in underwear whilst attached to a breast pump.
And her fellow celebs were quick to lend their support.
“Who the fudge would Shame a mom for doing what she does ? And how the hell did you do it? #shumerwoman❤️” commented Selma Blair.
“You are a GODDESS,” added Debra Messing, while Demi Lovato chimed in with, “You’re a rockstar 🙌🏼”
Amy returned to work on Sunday, performing her first stand-up gig since welcoming Gene with husband Chris Fischer.
“I’m sorry. What?! Didn’t you birth a human like 5 minutes ago?” commented one social media user underneath a pic of Amy’s performance.
“Already???? That’s insane!!! And inhumane. Contract or not you need to be allowed at least 6 weeks for maternity,” said another.
