Senator Peris made mention that she never envisaged herself “becoming a career politician”.

Reflecting on her time in parliament, Nova, 45 said, “As a champion of change I will continue to fight racism and prejudice”.

It has been widely reported that the former athlete will now consider a role with the AFL with a particular focus on Indigenous Affairs.
