First Johnny Depp and Amber Heard got on the wrong side of Australian Deputy PM Barnaby Joyce, and now Ellen DeGeneres has stirred up Federal Environment Minister Greg Hunt after releasing a video message encouraging everyone to take care of the Great Barrier Reef.
The Talkshow host, a passionate vegan and animal rights advocate, lent her voice to the ‘Remember the Reef’ campaign amid growing global concerns the Great Barrier Reef is suffering catastrophic efforts of climate change and coral bleeching.
Minister Hunt is having none of it, and is on the defensive over the Australian government’s stance on climate change and efforts to protect one of the nation’s largest tourism incentives.
Launching a series of tweets aimed at DeGeneres’s twitter handle @TheEllenShow, the minister did not hold back.
DeGeneres, 58, seemed unconcerned about the tweets and hadn’t replied to them by the time she walked the red carpet for the Los Angeles premiere of her new movie, Finding Dory, a sequel to Pixar’s 2003 Finding Nemo.
