Daniel Maguire is crashing Bachelor In Paradise Australia this week, and judging from his past TV appearances, he will definitely shake things up.
The Canadian model who appeared on The Bachelorette US and two seasons of their Paradise series, promises entertainment.
WHO: What made you say yes to appearing on the Australian version of Bachelor In Paradise?
DANIEL: I don’t like to say no to anything, I’m the type of person that will say yes to everything. Every show I’ve been on I’ve been asked, I’ve never applied to any of these shows. I keep saying yes and they keeping wanting me, and I know why, everyone knows why, because I kind of bring an entertainment factor.
When I started watching these TV shows back in the day I’d be like “Why are these people so boring?”. If you’re on TV entertain me. Not everyone has to be funny but have a personality.
WHO: You said you’re entertaining, but how else would you describe yourself?
DANIEL: I mean how I describe might be different to what people see, because what people see is edited. But I would consider myself athletic, if you take a look at me you can see I’m athletic. I’m ambitious, intelligent, I’m very honest and very open, laid back, i just like to have a good time and enjoy life as much as possible. I’m very well cultured because of all the traveling I’ve done.
WHO: Would you move to Australia for love if you did find somebody on the show?
DANIEL: If I did I would for sure. I love Australia, I’ve lived there before and I’d live there again. Any of my friends would move to Australia, and I know I would. If it was Iraq I’d be like “I don’t really feel like going there” because it’s not the safest place. If it was the right girl I’d definitely move. But for it to be the right girl it needs to be more than a hook up, it needs to be the woman of my dreams for me to move there.
WHO: Did you google the Australian Paradise contestants before heading to Fiji?
DANIEL: No I had no idea, and I did the same thing for every show I’ve ever been on. I wanted to just go on it without expectations, I just wanted to go on it with a fresh start and I’m glad I did it that way. As I know, TV isn’t usually what the person is like. I usually find that the guys on TV that come across as super romantic are usually the worst, and the ones that come across as a jerk or are rude are usually the ones that are more down to earth.
WHO: So do you come across as down to earth or more of the jerk type?
DANIEL: On TV it depends which season and who you ask. I definitely come across as quite open and honest, and maybe sometimes arrogant. But it depends if the person understand my humour. I’m very sarcastic and have a very dry sense of humour. Most of the time I’m joking when I make certain comments.
WHO: In the American Bachelor In Paradise you described yourself as an ‘eagle’, can you explain why?
DANIEL: I was just messing around, I’ve never called myself that before the show. I do a lot of this stuff for TV sake.
WHO: You called the female Bachelor In Paradise US contestants ‘washed up street dogs’…
DANIEL: [Laughs] Looking back at that it was a little harsh, but as I was saying I’m very sarcastic. They don’t really look like that, but it was my honest opinion that I was not really attracted to them. My personal opinion, not saying they’re not really attractive to other people.
