Bachelor in Paradise’s Alex Nation has slammed online trolls for ‘mum-shaming’ her.
Alex, who is mum to eight-year-old son Elijah, took to Instagram to express her views.
‘Mum shaming is so f***ing real. It’s toxic, insidious and it’s becoming disturbingly common. Quite frankly, I’m sick of it,’ she started the lengthy post.
Parenting can be absolutely spirit crushing as it is. I can’t even begin to explain eloquently enough the amount of times I have doubted myself over my 8.5 years of being a parent.
‘As a young mother I am particularly sensitive to the vulnerable feelings a human can have trying to navigate their way around parenthood,’ she wrote.
‘Every child is different, every parent is different and there is no road map to successful parenting.
‘As parents we are all faced with having to choose the right thing to do for our child. Sometimes you realise, with the clarity of hindsight, that you should have chosen differently, but that’s called life.’
‘All you can do is try and learn and grow along the way and try not make the same mistake in the future.
‘So shamers, shame on you. We are all just doing our absolute best with this whole Mum thing. Shut your lid, have yourself an orgasm and stop being such damn mean spirited individuals,’ she concluded.
Alex’s rant comes after she revealed the real reason she split from on-screen lover Bill Goldsmith just three weeks after leaving Bachelor in Paradise together.
‘We came back from paradise and it was good for three weeks and then he told me that he didn’t love me and that I suppose, we couldn’t be together.
‘And that he thinks it was the environment that made him fall in love with me,’ Alex told host Osher Gunsberg on the reunion special.
