Ben McCormack misses first court appearance over child pornography case

A Current Affair’s Ben McCormack has missed his first court mention as he is still being treated in an unnamed hospital, news.com.au reports.

The reporter’s lawyer Sam Macedone issued a medical certificate to the local court confirming McCormack was unable to appear, and has asked for his bail to be extended until July 4.

Child pornography offences charges against the 42-year-old may carry a maximum of 15 years in jail.

He was charged last month after police raids on his home and the ACA offices at the Nine Network.

Police will allege McCormack engaged in explicit conversations about children with another male adult and discussed child pornography.
