According to the network, this season we will witness everything from “huge swells, resuscitations that bring people back from the brink of death and a police chase that sees the beach buggy go off-road in hot pursuit.”

Fans might also recognise one particular beachgoer as Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull features in an upcoming episode to talk with the team about growing up in Bondi and the important role the lifeguards play.

A few new faces have also been added to the lifeguard team, so get ready to spot 32-year-old big wave rider Lukas Street-Wong, aka “Boo”, and 19-year-old trainee, Lachlan McArthur.
