One of Melbourne’s most enduring crime mysteries has come to a close, with Borce Ristevski admitting to killing his wife Karen.

The revelation comes two years after the boutique owner’s remains were found in bushland, following her mysterious disappearance from the couple’s suburban home.
Ristevski, 54, has pleaded guilty to manslaughter of his wife, 47, ahead of a murder trail that was meant to commence tomorrow.
After extensive investigations that for a time seemed to be going nowhere, Ristevski was accused of killing Karen at their comfortable Avondale Heights home before disposing of her body.
The plea follows years of denial of any involvement in the shocking crime. He had claimed his wife had simply gone for a walk and never returned, and denied any knowledge of what had become of her.
The case gained new energy when Karen’s skeletal remains were located in Macedon Regional Park eight months after she disappeared.
