The 55-year-old actor has opened up for the first time about the moment he “threatened to kill” Harvey Weinstein, after the now-disgraced Hollywood producer made unwanted sexual advances towards Gwyneth Paltrow.

The Once Upon A Time in Hollywood star and Paltrow dated for three years in the 90’s, it was during that period that Weinstein allegedly attempted to convince the then little-known Gwyneth into his hotel room and ask for a massage after she signed on to star in Emma and Shakespeare in Love in 1995.

Following Weinstein’s fall from grace last year, Gwyneth recounted how Brad stood up for her after she told him what had happened.

At the time of Gwyneth’s confession, Brad remained quiet on the matter, however, the Benjamin Button star has finally opened up about his confrontation with Weinstein.

‘At that moment, I was just a boy from the Ozarks on the playground and that’s how we confronted things,” he said in a new interview with CNN.

‘I just wanted to make sure nothing was going to happen further because she was going to do two films [with Weinstein].’

‘I think the interesting thing is that we, Hollywood specifically, but the workplace, men and women’s dynamics is being re-calibrated, re-calibrated in a very good way that is long overdue. And I do think that’s an important story to tell.”

Last year, Gwyneth – who is now married to Brad Falchuk – praised Pitt for his actions.

‘He told me exactly what he said. He said, “If you ever make her feel uncomfortable again, I’ll kill you.” It was great. It was the equivalent of throwing him against the wall, energetically,” she said.

‘He leveraged his fame and power to protect me at a time when I didn’t have fame or power yet … he’s the best. I love him for this.’

Weinstein – whose trial has been postponed until January 2020 – was charged with two counts of predatory sexual assault, one count of criminal sexual act in the first degree, one count of first-degree rape and one count of third-degree rape, after Ronan Farrow’s ground-breaking account of allegations towards Weinstein in the New Yorker came to light.

The damning article prompted dozens of other women to come forward with their own stories about the producers disgusting behaviour, and was a catalyst for the #Metoo movement.
