It’s a match made in streaming heaven – the star of Breaking Bad, the executive producers behind The Good Wife and spin-off The Good Fight, and the writer of British crime series Criminal Justice (which was adapted in the US as The Night Of). Bryan Cranston, who played Walter White in multi-award-winning series Breaking Bad, will once again take the lead role in a TV series with news he has signed on for upcoming legal thriller Your Honor.
The series, which is due to go into production later this year, is being adapted from Israeli series Kvodo and tell the story of a judge whose son is involved in a hit-and-run accident. What follows is a tale of “lies, deceit and impossible choices”, according to the announcement made today by Stan, who have the exclusive rights for the Showtime series in Australia.
Your Honor will be executive produced by Robert and Michelle King, the brains behind The Good Wife and The Good Fight. Set and filmed in New Orleans, the 10-part series will be brought to the screen by showrunner Peter Moffat, the writer behind Criminal Justice.
“Peter, Michelle and Robert have crafted an original thriller with gut-wrenching suspense, raw emotion and moral complexity,” said Gary Levine, President of Entertainment, Showtime Networks Inc.. “And we are simply ecstatic that Bryan Cranston, one of the planet’s finest actors, shares our enthusiasm and has agreed to play the lead. I can’t wait to shoot Your Honor and show it to the world!”
