On AUG. 29 actor Gene Wilder sadly passed away at the age of 83. The star’s nephew informed the Associated Press of the actor’s death and confirmed he passed at his home in Stamford, Connecticut, due to complications from Alzheimer’s disease.
In his statement, Jordan Walker-Pearlman (Wilder’s nephew) said “Wilder was diagnosed with the disease three years ago, but kept the condition private so as not to disappoint fans.”
Following the news, A-listers have taken to social media to send their condolences to the iconic star.
Sarah Jessica Parker, 51, posted a vintage snap, captioning it: “My first crush. The brilliantly funny Gene Wilder. Those blue eyes and unique comedic gifts a potent and seductive combination. R.I.P. x, sj.”
Ben Stiller, 50, also commended Wilder for his acting skills as a final goodbye. The actor tweeted, “Gene Wilder. Best ever at what he did. #RIP.”
