Life as a single parent can’t be easy – and that goes for superstars, too, according to Channing Tatum.
WATCH: Channing and his girlfriend Jessie J are still so loved up!
Making an appearance on Running Wild With Bear Grylls, the Magic Mike Live mastermind opened up about fatherhood since splitting from now ex-wife Jenna Dewan – and admitted that the solo dad gig is a tough one.
“I never in a million years thought that I would be a single dad now… It’s scary, to be completely honest,” he told former SAS serviceman and celebrity survival instructor Bear.
Channing is father to six-year-old Everly, whom he shares with Jenna. The pair split in April 2018, after being married for eight years, and only finalised their divorce last month.
He also revealed he’s feeling pressure around being a dad to a little girl, because their different genders mean there are some experiences they’ll never share.
“It’s a lot of pressure, like, all the female stuff,” he admitted.
“I’m gonna have a really hard time, probably, having a dialogue with her because I just don’t have that.”
But the White House Down star added that he won’t let it stop him maintaining and open communication with his little girl.
“I can’t talk to her about that but, you know, we’ll find our way through it.”
The dancer-turned-actor also spilled that he watched hair-braiding tutorials to prepare for having a daughter.
Meanwhile, his ex Jenna is expecting her second child, with boyfriend Steve Kazee. The pair have been together for a little over a year, and announced in September that they were having a child together.
The pair revealed the news in a statement to PEOPLE, admitting they were over the moon to give Everly a sibling.
“We are beyond overjoyed and couldn’t be happier to be expanding our family!” they said in the shared statement.
“Becoming a mother is quite simply the absolute best most incredible thing that has ever happened to me,” Jenna added on Instagram, captioning a picture of herself and Everly.
“@stevekazee you are a gift from above and i couldn’t be more excited to be expanding our family together…!”
Meanwhile, Channing’s getting set to take his second ‘baby’ – aka his Magic Mike Live show – around the world, bringing what we like to call the ‘scantily clad man show’ to Australia.
Speaking at a media conference in Melbourne’s Plaza Ballroom in early December where he made the exciting announcement, the 39-year-old stripper-turned-movie star promised the sizzling show show will “blow your mind”.
“The movies did so amazingly here, we knew we had to figure out how to raise our game to do something this audience would love,” Channing said.
“It took a few years for it to all come together but, man, did it come together. We have something planned for Australia that is going to blow your minds.”
“I never dreamed of having a circus tent full of strippers… but I guess it’s now one of my dreams,” he also told Sydney Morning Herald.
“It’s a dance show you can actually touch.”
Touch? We’re going to hold you to that promise, Channing…
