Chris Evans and Jenny Slate made their red carpet debut as a couple at a premiere in New York on Saturday.
Captain America and his new girlfriend attended the premiere of the new animated movie, The Secret Life of Pets. Slate, an actress and former Saturday Night Live star, is the voice of one of the movie’s characters, Gidget, a white Pomeranian.
Slate spoke to Entertainment Tonight on Saturday, “I haven’t really had a large premiere before, so it’s nice to have someone who knows how it goes,” in reference to her attendance with Evans.

She also, rather adorably, revealed, “It’s kind of like I got my dream 7th grade boyfriend. We didn’t know each other growing up, but we grew up about a half hour away from each other. We’ve been friends for a while.”
Evans, who is 35-years-old shared the following supportive tweet after the premiere.
The couple reportedly met whilst working on director Marc Webb’s Gifted in October 2015. Since then, the couple has been spotted on a double date with Chris’s younger brother Scott Evans at Magnolia in Hollywood.
During an appearance on Anna Faris’ podcast with Evans, Slate admitted, “I didn’t know what to expect when I met Chris”. She added, “I was a little scared because I kind of felt like, Well, I don’t know him. He’s a giant man with huge muscles and he’s Captain America. How could we ever connect…[But] the first night that we hung out, I was like, ‘Wow, I could hang out with Chris for, like, 90 hours.”
