BREAKING: Christchurch massacre accused is charged with 50 counts of murder

The Australian man prepares to face court

Accused Aussie terrorist Brenton Harrison Tarrant, 28 has been charged with 50 counts of murder, and 39 charges of attempted murder.

The gun rampage at two Muslim houses of worship, Al Noor and Linwood mosques, was infamously live-streamed on the Internet on March 15.

According to reports he will appear in court via a live stream on Friday, from a maximum security prison in Paremoremo, Auckland.

The case is already fraught with controversy, with the accused demanding to represent himself in court, and previously causing outrage by flashing an alleged white supremacist hand sign at a previous appearance.

Tarrant was initially held on one count of murder.
