David Campbell has opened up about the truly terrifying moment burglars broke into his home.
Detailing the terrifying event in his column for Stellar Magazine, the TV host explained that his wife Lisa and the couple’s children, Leo, eight and twins Billy and Betty, three, were all at home when the security alarm that they’d recently had installed went off at 2am.
‘[Lisa] put in the [alarm] code, and then she heard the sneakers squeaking. More than one set. Lisa started yelling, “Get out of my house!” David – who was in Los Angeles at the time – recalled.
‘Thankfully, they ran. She dialled triple zero and then called me. Within minutes of being on the phone to me, the police showed up,’
‘”Someone is in the house” was not what I was expecting my wife to say to me while I was stranded in LA,’ the TV star admitted.
Thankfully, The Today Extra host confirmed that none of his family had been harmed and that the culprits were a group of six teenagers that had tried to break into several homes in their neighbourhood.
David ended the article by thanking “my security guy” who had persuaded him to install an alarm system just six months earlier.
