After an eight-year hiatus, Demi Lovato has made her return to the Met Gala red carpet.
Walking alongside designer Prabal Gurung, the 31-year-old took to the red carpet in a shimmering silver mermaid-style gown and accentuated the Met’s botanic-inspired theme with silver floral applique and an adornment of De Beers diamond jewellery.
Demi’s unexpected return to the Met Gala comes six years after the singer revealed that she had a “terrible experience” at the 2016 fundraiser.
“This one celebrity was a complete b**** and was miserable to be around. It was very cliquey,” she told Billboard.
Reflecting on her experience, Demi further shared, “I remember being so uncomfortable that I wanted to drink. I changed my clothes, but I still had millions of dollars of diamonds on in an AA meeting, and I related more to the homeless people in that meeting who struggled with the same struggles that I deal with than the people at the Met Gala.”
