The WWE Network announced on Monday that the 18-year-old had officially kicked off training to be a WWE Superstar at the WWE Performance Centre in Orlando, Florida.
This makes Simone the first fourth generation WWE STAR, as not only her father, but her late grandfather, Rocky Johnson and great-grandfather, “High Chief” Peter Maivia were famed wrestlers, too.

“It means the world to me. To know that my family has such a personal connection to wrestling is really special to me and I feel grateful to have the opportunity, not only to wrestle, but to carry on that legacy,” Simone said in a statement.
She also added in an Instagram post, “To the little girl who fell in love with wrestling & said ‘this will be my life one day’, this is for you. I’m humbled, grateful & ready to work. Let’s do this. @wwe @wwenxt”
The Rock also took to social media to share the exciting news.
“Dreams ain’t just for dreamers. Congrats to my #1 born, Simone Johnson on officially signing her wrestling contract with @wwe @wwenxt and on her way to becoming the first ever 4th generation WWE athlete,” he wrote alongside a picture of the father and daughter sharing a hug.
“Carry our family name proudly, but your road will always be yours to create, earn & own.
So proud. Live your dream. Let’s work.”
The actor previously spoke to Good Morning America in 2018 about supporting Simone’s dream of becoming a wrestler.
“I love the idea. We had this big conversation, she came with me to Hong Kong [and] Beijing. I said, ‘Honey, whatever your passion is, I support that.’ And wrestling was good to me, I started my career in Madison Square Garden. So, yeah, bring it on, she’s going to be a champ.”
