Ed Kavalee will be joining Em Rusciano’s radio show in 2018.
The announcement was made on Tuesday November 7 on the Hit Network’s Em Rusciano radio show with Harley Breen.
“I’m very excited to join The Hit Network and the 2Day FM Sydney Breakfast show with Em,” comedian and Have You Been Paying Attention regular Kavalee said. “Bring on 2018. We are really looking forward to it. I just hope my old room at my share house on Cleveland street is still available.”
Rusciano said of her new co-host, “I’m bloody pumped to have the talented, funny and clever human that is Ed Kavalee joining the show in 2018. As long as he doesn’t object to me blatantly using the show to sell my comedy concerts”.
The announcement was made after Breen resigned from the breakfast radio show on-air, deciding to favour sleep-ins and family time over the early morning gig.
“I’m heading back to the fiscally responsible job of being a touring stand up – very smart,” he joked. “It’s by no means an easy decision, but it’s absolutely the right one.
“I love a lot of things that I’ve been fortunate enough to have in my life: my fiancee, my boys, and stand up. So I’ve made the choice to give those things my full attention going into the future.
Rusciano broke down after Breen’s emotional announcement.
“I’m very sad you’re leaving. We’re great mates,” she said. “Obviously everyone will be shocked, but I’m still here.”
Breen will finish up at the end of 2017.
