As journalists, Seven presenter Edwina Bartholomew and digital media executive Neil Varcoe are used to deadlines.
As partners, though, they were in no hurry to wed. “I think he was waiting for an opening in the diary when we were both alone before he proposed,”Bartholomew tells WHO with a laugh.“We had to wait until we were organised enough for him to do it. It just came down to timing.”
For Bartholomew, 34, and Varcoe, 36, that deadline will be met in April when the pair, who have been together for seven years, plan to say, “I do” at Warramba, the farm they own and have lovingly restored near rural Lithgow, NSW. “The invitations have gone out,” says Bartholomew, “so now it feels real!”
One thing Bartholomew is keeping under wraps is the look of her gown, even as she reveals that Melbourne couturier Sonia Cappellazzo will tend to its alterations. “It’s not made by a designer,” she teases. “It’s an old dress, vintage, country romantic.”
