Em Rusciano is hitting back at haters after being labelled a “bitch” by radio insiders and co-workers.
Earlier this year, the now-pregnant radio host was slammed for comments she made on Wil Anderson’s Whilosophy podcast about her co-hosts Grant Denyer and Ed Kavalee.
“And I, all of a sudden, got two co-hosts that I’d never really met or spoken to, and then I’m expected to have this instant chemistry with,” she told Anderson. “And it was just hectic. And it was The Em Rusciano Radio Show. It was my show, and all of a sudden Ed’s anchoring, the show’s called The 2Day FM Breakfast Show, like I took all these big ego hits.”
Days later, a former staffer who reportedly worked closely with Rusciano claims she made the workplace a “toxic” environment.
Now, Rusciano tells WHO she was just speaking the truth.
“And all I did, again, was tell the truth. But it did upset a lot of people,” she admitted. “And now, on the flipside, I probably should have thought about how it would upset other people rather than just selfishly thinking about myself. But it was such a good chat.”
The soon-to-be mother of three is adamant that she is not a bitch, just protective of who she is.
“But what annoyed me, again, was that whole narrative around, ‘Oh, she’s difficult. She’s a bitch.’ because I am not. I’m just flat out not, and anyone who works closely with me knows that. I am fiercely protective of who I am. And I know exactly what I want. I am not afraid to go about getting it. I am not afraid to say no. If someone gets in my way, and threatens myself, or my livelihood, or my family, I will strongly come up against them”
Rusciano also spoke to WHO about her pregnancy, 20 years after she did motherhood the first time around, and her tragic miscarriage.
