Australian actress Emma Booth jetted back to Sydney for just two days to celebrate two nominations – and one win so far – at the glamorous AACTA Awards.
The 35-year-old former model – glittering in silver sequins – walked the red carpet at Sydney’s Star Casino with her tattooed US rocker husband, Dominick Joseph Lunar.
“I’ve got terrible jet lag, and it’s only a fleeting visit but I’m really excited to be here to celebrate all the wonderful films we are making here in Australia. It’s pretty awesome. It’s 10 years since I last won an AACTA, so it’s good to be back.”
WA-born Emma, who recently scored an ongoing role in American fairytale drama Once Upon A Time, was one of the first winners at tonight’s AACTAS – scooping the award for Best Lead Actress in a Feature Film for Hounds of Love.
She is also nominated as Best Supporting Actress in a Television Drama for Seven’s Blue Murder: Killer Cop and, never one to duck a challenge, was scheduled to present a prize too – “I’ll give it a go,” she laughed.
Emma was looking forward to “catching up with loved ones” on her all-too-brief trip to Australia, before returning to the Once Upon a Time set in Vancouver. Gesturing around at the red carpet, she added: “It feels like family everywhere!”
