Hosted by Grant Denyer, the Channel Ten show is set to debut on Monday, May 13 at 6pm.

Celebrity Name Game is based on a U.S. format created by former Friends actress Courteney Cox and her ex-husband David Arquette.

The game show involves two teams of pairs – such as a mum and son or two best friends – who must guess the names of movies, singers and other characters with the help of a celebrity guest.

One of the shoe’s celeb guest will be The Loop host Scott Tweedie.

“It’s basically ‘Celebrity Heads’ or ‘Articulate’ on a bigger scale and a huge studio — along with everyday Aussies teamed up with celebrities,” he explained to 10daily.

“Contestants will have a big screen behind them that has the name of a celebrity or an everyday item, and while one tries to describe the person or word — without saying what it is —  while the other has to guess it as fast as they can,” he added.

At stake is a $10,000 cash prize for the lucky winners.

“It’s a lot of fun!” Tweedie added, “I get really shouty.  My family and I always play games like this on family holidays, so I’m used to getting into it and can’t help shouting out the clues.”

Host, Grant Denyer took to Instagram to share his excitement at hosting the show.

“It’s a flat out giggle-fest at 6pm to watch & play along. If you want something super dooper FUN at 6pm… grab the family, crank it up & crack a rib laughing,” he wrote.
