According to a report by The Daily Telegraph the majority of contestants are ‘paid less than $100 a day’, a figure which is well below the minimum wage.

The news publication revealed that dating show Married At First Sight stars are paid $150 a day to pop on a tux or a white dress and marry a complete stranger in the hope that they’ll find love.

And as previously reported on WHO, in August 2017 The Courier Mail revealed that Monk will make $300,000 for her love-finding efforts. That insider also mentioned Matty J, on the other hand, earned $200,000 for his season.

However, a former star who chose to remain unnamed told News Corp that regular contestants who starred on the Channel Ten show didn’t score much cash.”You don’t get paid a wage as such, you get given a weekly expense allowance which is under $100 a day. It is below minimum wage.”

‘It’s ridiculous what you get paid. A lot of the girls were excited to get that amount a week, but I was like are you serious I wouldn’t get out of bed for that,” she continued.

Meanwhile, Real Housewives Of Melbourne stars were reportedly given $70,00 per season on the reality TV gig.
