Despite being a Logie-winning TV presenter, Carrie Bickmore revealed that at one stage last year she had considered hanging up her role on the hit news program.

“I have [considered quitting] in the past six months,” she reveals. But Bickmore confirms it’s because the 37-year-old is busy juggling both her TV gig and radio show alongside comedian Tommy Little on the Hit Network.

When asked which medium she preferred, Bickmore says: “I like them both. Radio is where I started and it’s like being home but I love [Project co-hosts] Waleed [Aly] and Pete [Helliar] and I don’t want to give that up. I just like having my fingers in a couple of different media pies.”

While there has been a lot of speculation about Carrie Bickmore and new co-star Lisa Wilkinson feuding, the long-time Channel Ten host told WHO Wilkinson’s addition to the show was welcomed with open arms.

In fact, it was: “The shot in the arm our show needed,” our cover star says. “I couldn’t be more excited to be working with her. We text, we call and we’re going to make a great team,” Bickmore revealed just days before beginning her stint on this season with Wilkinson alongside her.

Bickmore even went as far as to say Wilkinson joined the show at the perfect time – now that in its ninth year. “It’s good when someone big joins the show. It revives it and changes it. You need that on a show that is on every night.”
