Mark Salling, best known for his portrayal of Noah “Puck” Puckerman on ‘Glee’ has been indicted for allegedly receiving and possessing child pornography the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced.
In December 2015, the 33 year old had his laptop and USB flash drive seized from his property and has now been charged with two counts: using the Internet to receive a photograph and video featuring “young girls” and possessing two videos also featuring “young girls”
If convicted, Salling faces a minimum sentence of 5 years and maximum of 20 years in prison on each of the child pornography charges.
“It doesn’t matter who you are or what you do, if you hurt a child you will be held accountable,” Lt. Andrea Grossman of the LAPD Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force said in a statement. “These images are more than photographs, they are child abuse.”
Through his attorney, Salling has agreed to surrender to federal authorities on June 3 to face charges in the indictment, according to the release.
This isn’t the first time the actor’s been in trouble with the law, after he was previously sued by an ex-girlfriend for sexual battery, assault, intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligence.
The pair settled the case for a reported $2.7 million with the sexual battery case being later being dropped. He admitted to causing her to fall and injure herself through carelessness.
