Douglas County Undersheriff Holly Nicholaon-Kluth says two suspects have been taken into custody, however a third suspect may be on the loose.

“They are still clearing the school, so we don’t know that yet,” she said. “We have multiple students that have been injured.”

It is unclear at this time whether the suspected shooters were students.

“This is still an active shooter situation,” Nicholson-Kluth said.

STEM School has students from K-12 with about 1,800 pupils. It is located about seven miles (11.2 kilometres) from Columbine High School. On April 20, 1999 two students killed 12 of their classmates and one teacher in a mass shooting at Columbine high.

More to come.
