“Jabba Dabba Done. Tried to get my vaccine right through the Olympic Rings, but understand correct needle placement overruled symbolic photo op,” he wrote, referencing the Olympic Rings tattoo on his right arm.

“To be honest, I feel immensely grateful to live in an age where super smart people are able to do incredible things like make a vaccine for something that has ground the world to a halt. Just as I do any time science solves something that could have easily killed you 100 years ago,” he penned.

“What I REALLY hope is that by posting this, it lands in front of the eyes of someone who is quietly unsure about getting vaccinated,” the comedian added.

“And if that’s you sweet reader, my request is this: don’t take medical advice from me. I didn’t go to medical school, I’m not a doctor,” he joked.

“But you know who is a doctor? Your doctor. Talk to them. And only them. Have a discussion with someone who has studied medical science for years and years and years about this, then see how you feel about participating in this effort. That’s all. Good on you. 🙂,” he finished the gentle encouragement of his fan base.

Fans, friends and followers were quick to share their support in the comments.

“Gold medal in Common Manning. 🏅,” his wife, Zoe Foster Blake wrote, referencing both the shirt Hamish wore and a joke from his podcast with Andy Lee, Hamish & Andy.

“Good man. Well said,” wrote actor Rob Mills.

“How’s the bicep on him!!! Love it Hamo 🙌,” wrote Jack Steele, one half of the comedy duo The Inspired Unemployed.

“I’ll have what he’s having,” said Nazem Hussain, fellow comedian and host of The Project.

Hamish is currently living through the Sydney lockdown, having moved to the NSW capital from Melbourne earlier this year.

Lockdown has seen him celebrate the birthdays of wife Zoe and daughter Rudy with epic bake-offs, where the girls respectively received a baked cheesecake and a fancy unicorn cake from Hamish.

He has also been closely following the Olympics, posting a photo with his kids on his back, while he looked very uncomfortable on all fours.

“Huge thank you to the sport of equestrian for inspiring the next generation 👍,” he wrote.
