Thursday night’s episode of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here was an emotional one, as Ryan Gallagher opened up about his mother’s ongoing battle with breast cancer.

The reality star sat down with his cast mates to share his mum’s story and why his chosen charity is the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
“My mum first got diagnosed when I was five, with breast cancer. She beat it, smashed it,” Ryan explained.
“When I was 15, it came back. Beat it again. Then, she lost both her breasts. Then it came back when I was 25. Beat it again. And then it came back when I was 30.
“Breast cancer means a lot because I could lose my best friend from it,” Ryan continued.
“I don’t know what I’m going home to. I don’t know what condition she will be in”.
Ryan’s mother has endured cancer in both her breasts and throat and is currently fighting cancer in her chest wall and bowel.
Speaking to camera, Ryan explained that multiple cancer diagnoses has become part of normal life for his family.
“As bad as it sounds, we got used to it. It’s hard,” he said through tears.
Earlier on this week, Charlotte Crosby broke down in tears whilst discussing her blossoming relationship with Ryan.
In a heart to heart with her campmate Paul Cosentino, Charlotte said she’s torn between giving her romance with Ryan another shot or sticking to her guns and remaining single.
“It is hard [to ease off] because, like, obviously we fancy each other, but [Ryan] didn’t expect anything else from what it is in here,” she said through tears.
“He said, “We have got completely different lives, how would it even work?” It’s really confusing.”
