BREAKING: ‘Neighbours’ star Bryan Marshall has passed away

Beloved James Bond star Bryan Marshall has passed away at the age of 81.

The British born star was best known for playing Commander Talbot in the 1997 Bond flick, The Spy Who Loved Me alongside Roger Moore. 

The news was confirmed this morning by his agent and friend, Esta Charkham. 

“So sad that my dear old chum Bryan Marshall has gone on ahead,” her tweet read. “A wonderful actor – he was so good you never noticed how good he was. He was a valued chum. His credits are a catalogue of classic British and Australian TV. I will always remember him with a smile on my face because he was the kindest man in the world and a really lovely actor.

“He was a Battersea boy who got a scholarship to RADA (Royal Academy of Dramatic Art), a proper working class actor who had a fantastic and eclectic career. I will remember him with love and respect.”

Bryan became a familiar name in Australian households following his appearance in popular Australian soap series like Neighbours and Home and Away as well as Water Rats, All Saints, Stinger sand A Country Practice. Bryan, who was also the host of Australia’s Most Wanted, rounded off his longstanding career in the entertainment industry in 2012. The last series he appeared in was A Moody Christmas. 

He’s also remembered for his incredible portrayal of Councillor Harris in the hit film, The Long Good Friday.
