Former Home And Away actress Jessica Tovey has opened up about her passion for acting and confirms her heart truly lies on the stage.
The star spoke to Confidential and revealed “Theatre is my home. That’s where I started. I’ve been doing stage work since I was six and Home And Away was my second professional job.”
Tovey, 29, who is now starring in the live stage show of The Merchant of Venice has in the past been involved in popular TV show Wonderland and mini-series Wolf Creek.
“I love television and film and now feel home there but this is where most actors started and there is nothing like live theatre.
And now she says she’s living her schoolgirl dream.
“As a total drama nerd, I went to a performing arts high school, I spent every day after school, spent every single afternoon doing drama schools, I came to see shows at the Opera House of Bells and used to think that is the ultimate goal with what I want to do with my career.
“So to be sitting here 10 years later going, ‘Oh, I am here’ — that’s really incredible. That was the teenage dream for 15-year-old Jess.”
