She announced her departure from her role as Elly Conway in Neighbours last month, and now Jodi Anasta revealed her character will meet a grisly end that is set to shock viewers.

“I don’t have any say in the way I exit the show, but I’m very, very happy with my exit. It will be next level brutal. I can’t believe I get to do this on television,” she told Confidential of her departure from the Ten soap.
The 35-year-old also opened up about the important life lessons that playing Elly has taught her.

“I feel through the arc of my character I’ve learned a lot about myself through watching her make good and poor choices.
“As my daughter would say: ‘Is that a good choice, mummy, or is that a poor choice?’
“It’s all about living and learning and understanding yourself, and what you’re capable of, and what your fears are.”
Jodi also spoke about how she is looking forward to moving back to Sydney so she can spend more time co-parenting five-year-old daughter, Aleeia with ex-husband, Braith Anasta.
“For me, 2020 is the year of risk-taking, change, positivity and new directions,” she said.

“I’m going to let myself feel joyous about that. I’m open to future possibilities, rather than close myself off in gloom and doom.
“I want to have full-time role with Aleeia, doing the lunch boxes and drops off and story times.”
Last month Jodi insisted that her departure from the long-running soap had nothing to do with last year’s hiatus – when she was forced to take time off from filming due to “exhaustion”.
“It is completely unrelated,” Anasta told Confidential. “At the moment I am feeling happier, healthier and better than ever and just excited about change, a fresh new opportunity or discovering something else.”
