Back in 1993, when Chris Pratt was still just 13, the original Jurassic Park (watch the trailer below) roared into American cinemas, introducing the world to the terror of unstoppable velociraptors and being trapped in a jeep with a hungry dinosaur outside. Now, the Steven Spielberg blockbuster and its two initial sequels are coming to Netflix.

Based on the Michael Chrichton novel of the same name, Jurassic Park was also a cautionary tale about theme parks that housed genetically engineered creatures – a lesson that still doesn’t seem to have been learnt all these years later.

Released in 1997, The Lost World: Jurassic Park continued the story of stupid people doing stupid things, like taking children to remote islands where dinosaurs live. Oh, and there was that T Rex rampage through San Diego. Good times.

In Jurassic Park III (2001), there was more madness as people voluntarily went back to Isla Soma and… well, if you’d seen the first two, you knew what was coming. Worth watching if you want to know why it was 14 years before the franchise was revived with Jurassic World

Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park III come to Netflix on March 1.
