Kanye West is never short of controversy, so it’s perhaps no surprise that the rapper has made a startling admission about his consumption of porn.

The US star made the shock comments in an interview with Zane Lowe about his Jesus Is King gospel-inspired album.
The 42-year-old admitted to reading Playboy when he was just 5 years old after his dad left it out in the open of their home, which ultimately led him down the path of developing a full-blown porn addiction in his adult life.
“It has impacted every choice I have made in my life from age five to now, having to kick the habit,” he said, before explaining that it later developed in a sex addiction that played into his ego. West also touched on how that attitude was related to his notorious 2009 VMAs moment with Taylor Swift.
“That was such a script out of a rock star’s life,” he said. “You know that Playboy that I found when I was five years old was written all over the moment when I was at the MTV awards with the Timberlands, the Balmain jeans… before people was rocking Balmain jeans, and the Hennessy bottle. My mom had passed a year before. And I said some people drown themselves in drugs, and I drown myself in my addiction: sex.”
This isn’t the first time Kanye has opened up about his pornography viewing habits.
In a 2016 chat with his sister-in-law Khloe, wife Kim, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend on the series finale of Kocktails With Khloe, the singer admitted: “I’ve never watched porn with the sound on.”
“Well, I lived with my mum in high school, then I lived in my mother-in-law’s house,” he explained. “There’s kids next door and stuff.”
