Earlier today, fans were shocked when Georgie Gardener and Deb Knight agreed to do an interview with Kyle and Jackie O.
The breakfast duo sat down with the shock jock, where nothing was off limits.
Kyle tried to ruffle feathers and get Karl to join in on the chat through a phone call.
“I wrote to him, ‘We’ve got the two ladies who do the Today show on, the replacement and your ex-co-host’.”
“I said, ‘We should ring you’ and he [Karl] sent me a picture of Freddy Kruger.”
Now Stefanovic has responded to the claims.
Karl told the Daily Mail that he was not saying his former colleagues were like the movie villain.
“Kyle and I were talking about a former Russian president, not the Today show cast,’ the Channel Nine star said. ‘He has a fertile, funny and disturbing imagination. I don’t know how Jackie puts up with him.”
“For the record, I wake up with Today, not KIIS. And Kyle can KIIS my ass.”
Georgie commented on Stefanovic’s departure, saying, “To be honest, all jokes aside, it was a very tough week.”
“They were my colleagues and they were my team last year and that’s been a tricky transition.”
“No secret meetings. I’d actually left town and was quite removed. Obviously I was involved and consulted out of respect in terms of who would be Karl’s replacement,” she added, praising her new co-anchor.
